Organic, unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) contains ‘the mother’, which is strands of protein, enzymes and good bacteria which gives the vinegar a murky appearance.Through my research I’ve found that there are numerous uses for ACV but I generally use it in 3 ways…
Apple Cider Vinegar Improves Weight Loss
Organic, Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar has been used to promote weight loss. It can aid in speeding up the metabolism and the acid in the vinegar is known to suppress appetite which helps you not to overeat. ACV is also known to help with eliminating water retention. I use the Bragg’s brand, which I purchase from my local health food store. You can also find it online.
I’ve found that mixing one to two tablespoons of ACV with 4oz of water, lemon juice and honey, a drinking first thing in the morning helps aid in weight loss. I consume the mixture, followed by 4 oz of water, before breakfast. I was successful in losing 5 pounds in 7 days.
You can also mix 2 teaspoon in water and drink before each meal. This is said to have the same effect on losing weight.
Helps Clear a Stuffy Nose and a Sore Throat
To help relieve sinus pressure and to aid in drainage, mix a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink.
Sore throat, mix a teaspoon of ACV with honey. I usually place the ACV and honey in a larger spoon and down the mixture. Doing this a couple of times a day, at the onset of the sore throat, helps minimize the infection.
You can also gargle an ACV rinse, 1:1 ratio. I used 2 oz of ACV and 2 oz of warm water. The bacteria that causes the sore throat do not like the acidity of the ACV so the mixture helps ward off the infections.
Rinsing your hair with ACV will help balance your hair’s pH level. It helps remove product buildup from shampoos and conditioners. It can also cure dandruff, when the mixture is massaged into your scalp. Mix 1/3 cup of ACV in 4 cups of water. After shampooing your hair, pour or spray the mixture onto your hair. Leave on for a few minutes and rinse with cold water. Proceed with styling your hair has normal.
There are numerous uses for Apple Cider Vinegar; from aiding in weight loss, curing hiccups, eliminating sore throats, maintaining your health or hair; the key is to use organic, unfiltered ACV. Keep in mind, for all the benefits that ACV has, the taste can definitely be a drawback. Adding Unfiltered Apple Juice or Raw Honey can help add some sweetness to your mixtures.
