This shallow crochet drawstring bag will help maximize your makeup storage. The crochet drawstring bag mimics the Lay-n- Go makeup bag and is an easy way to access make-up, small toys such as Lego or other items. I love that this pattern gives you the flexibility to design the perfect size bag for your needs.

MATERIAL NEEDED for Crochet Lay Flat MakeUp Bag
CH- Chain Stitch
SC- Single Crochet
SL ST – Slip Stitch
Written Instructions-Crochet Lay Flat MakeUp Bag:
Using the Red Heart Super Bulky Yarn, make a magic circle. Place 8 DC stitches into the circle SL ST 8th stitch to the first stitch (creating a circle)
Ch 3 Place 16 DC Stitches (2 DC stitches in each stitch around)
Ch3 Place 32 DC Stitches (2DC stitches into each stitch around
Round 4 (increase round).
Ch3 complete 2 DC Stitches and then 1 DC Stitch, 2 DC Stitches 1 DC etc. into each stitch around (total of 48 stitches)
Round 5 (increase round).
Ch3 complete 2 DC Stitches and then 1 DC Stitch, 1 DC Stitch, 2 DC Stitches 1 DC, 1 DC Stitch etc. into each stitch around.
Round 6 (increase round).
Ch3 2 DC Stitches and then 1 DC Stitch, 1 DC, 1 DC, 2 DC Stitches 1 DC, 1 DC, 1 DC etc. into each stitch around.
Round 7 and Round 8 (Repeat)
Ch3 1 DC Stitches in each stitch around
Ch3 1 DC Stitches, CH 1 skip a stitch then 1 DC Stitch repeat
Ch3 SC stitch around the pouch to create a boarder DC Stitches and then 1 DC Stitch, 2 DC Stitches 1 DC etc. into each stitch around (total of 48 stitches)
Drawstring Cord- Create a cord approx. 37in weave through top of bag
This project can be customized to make a smaller or larger bag. Just complete less increased rows, for a smaller bag andmore increased rounds, for a larger bag.
I placed a round of slip stitches around the top of the bag to make the bag look more finished. This is an optional step.
