Lemon Citrus Whipped Shea Butter is a simple recipe which combines 6 ingredients to create a creamy mixture that’s great for your skin or hair! Shea butter is often purchased in a solid, semi-hard state; which makes it harder to use. By whipping oils with the Shea butter it causes the butter to become softer and more pliable.
I’ve been using whipped Shea butter for years and it has kept my skin supple and smooth. Below are the ingredients and steps to create your own batch of Shea butter.

- 6-8 oz for raw unrefined Shea Butter
- 2-3 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil

Make Lemon Citrus Whipped Shea Butter:
Place Shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil and vitamin E oil in a large bowl. If your Shea butter is hard, place the Shea butter in glass or metal bowl. Place the metal or glass bowl into a larger bowl with hot water, creating a double boiler. Allow the Shea butter to soften.
With hand mixer, whip the combined ingredients until creamy and light approx 5-10 min. Add essential oils and mix again for about 2 minutes.
Spoon your body butter into airtight glass jars, such as mason jar.
*This recipes whips up to approximately 16oz. When stored in a tightly sealed container, can last for months.
