Yarn Closer Look
I used Lion Brand Just my Strip yarn. It comes in a variety of colors and it’s an economical choice for crocheting and knitting clothes, home decor, and other craft projects. Lion Brand’s Just My Strip is 100% acrylic yarn that is machine washable. This yarn has a soft texture and a self-striping pattern. Each skein weighs 3 oz. 177 Yards.
As with many of my projects, creating can be done in many different ways. Learning how to crochet should be a relaxing process but it can take time to develop a technique that works best for you. My goal is to show you how to create beautiful crochet projects from a beginner’s perspective.

To Adjust the Size:
Pattern
This pattern is broken down into 3 components, Waist (Rise), and 2 legs. There is an optional drawstring and heart embellishment, that can be added to the finished project.
Rise
The distance from the middle of the crotch to the waistband. This will determine where the pants will sit on the body.
The rise is being created in this step.
Note: The rise was created around 6 ½ to 7 inches, which is for 6 -12 months.
Ch 70+1 slip stitch to join round
1. Round 1: dc in each stitch around, slip stitch to join, ch 3 (70)
2. Round 2: dc in, blo each stitch around, slip stitch to join, ch 3 (70)
3. Round 3-10: dc in blo, each stitch around, slip to join.
Start at one stitch and count around until you get to the center, attach a stitch marker.
Tip: Start counting where you joined the round, count around until you get to the 35th stitch. Place a stitch marker. This should be the middle of the pants. (Total stitches 70 divided by 2, equals 35).
Slip stitch joining the center area of the crotch. This will create individual legs.

Should there be 3 chains at the end of lines 3-10 in the Rise?
This is such a late response warm regards, but yes the ch 3 for rounds 3-10 will count as the dc in the next round. Following the steps for round 2.
Regards again on the late response. I hope you figured it out but if not and you want to pick the pattern up again. I hope this helps.
