Seaside Crochet Shawl/Scarf
The Seaside Crochet Shawl/Scarf is the perfect shawl for chilly nights. Have you ever tried to crochet a scarf? I love having a scarf project in my craft bag. When I’m waiting for one of my kiddos to finish their sports practice or waiting in the car pick-up line. A crochet shawl project is a perfect project to pack and go.
The Seaside Crochet Shawl/Scarf is created using a beautiful stitch pattern similar to the Boxed Shell Stitch. The pattern is created using a basic double crochet stitch, in a pattern of clusters and chains.

Luxe worsted weight yarn. It is a lightly woven-together yarn that comes in an array of swirled rich jewel-tone colors. This is a soft but sturdy yarn that allows finished projects to have a nice drape and feel.

To Adjust Width
To change the width, create a foundation ch in a multiple of 5, plus 4 stitches

R1: Skip 3 chains (ch),1 double crochet (dc) in 4th stitch (sts) from the hook; * chain 3, skip 3 chains (chs), 1dc in next 2ch sts; repeat from * to end. (End with 2dc); ch3; turn work (tw).
R2: Into open space (ch-3 space created from the previous row) *5dc; repeat from * ending with 1dc; ch3; tw.
R3: *1dc into first st of 5dc cluster; ch3, sk 3dc, 1dc in last st of 5dc cluster; repeat from * to end. (End with 2dc); ch3; tw.

PATTERN DIAGRAM
OPTIONAL- BORDER/TRIM
Turn the Seaside Shawl/Scarf horizontally and work along the edge.
Attach the yarn to the corner of the edge.
Place 2dc, aligned with each row across; until the end. [approx. 328]
Using a yarn needle, weave in the end.
