Crochet Dishcloths with Nylon Yarn

Easy to create crochet dishcloths with nylon yarn are an easy crochet project, perfect for washing dishes. These dishcloths use a nylon yarn which is perfect for helping with scrubbing your pots and pans.

While nylon yarn may not be the standard yarn,  it is easy to manipulate and you’ll be surprised how quickly you will be able to create these customizable crochet dishcloth. The dishcloth created with the pattern below measure approximately 14″x14″ but are easily customized by adjusting your foundation chain and the number of rows you create. 

Please note: While these dishcloths are created with nylon yarn, this pattern can be used with a different yarn. So if you aren’t a fan of nylon yarn you can absolutely use a cotton yarn, which is perfect for creating dishcloth.

Yarn-­ Yarn Bee Scrub-­ology  Scrub  It  Nylon  Yarn   

Crochet  Hook-­‐  6.5mm   

Yarn  Needle  (Optional)   

Scissors

Abbreviations:     

Ch- Chain  Stitch

DC- Double  Crochet   

SC- Single Crochet 

SL  ST-­ Slip  Stitch

TW- Turn Work    

These Instructions were created with the beginner crocheter in mind.  These instructions may not read like a traditional pattern.   The goal is for beginners to understand the written process.   

Written  Instructions Crochet DishCloths with Nylon Yarn:   

ch 18+1

Row 1: In 2nd stitch from hook place SC, next stitch DC, alternate SC, DC in each stitch across, Ch 1, TW.

Note: You should end the row with a DC stitch, a continue ending with DC at the end of each row throughout the project

Row 2: SC, next stitch DC, alternate SC, DC in each stitch across, Ch 1, TW.

Note you should begin each row with an SC stitch a continue starting each row with SC  throughout the project

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Row 3- 5: repeat row 2 (alternating between sc, dc stitch in each stitch across the row,  starting with an SC and ending with  DC stitch), Ch1, TW.

Note: There is an optional color change at row 16 and row 17

4.  Row 16 (Optional Color Change)- Change yarn, SC, next stitch DC, alternate SC, DC in 

     each stitch across, Ch 1, TW.

5. Row 17 (Optional Color Change- change back to the original color) SC, next stitch DC, alternate     

     SC, DC in each stitch across. Ch 1, TW

6.  Row 18: sc across, tie, finish off work. Weave in ends.
